In their third adventure George and Annie are back assisting Annie's scientist father in his exploration of the universe's origin. Listeners are treated to a fast-paced mystery of supercomputers, a fiendish plot to hinder experiments at the Large Hadron Collider particle accelerator, and portal trips into space as well as mini-essays by acclaimed scientists on Newtonian, quantum, and theoretical physics. James Goode narrates with an air of melodrama and humor, using exaggeration to its fullest. Goode's voice travels the octaves as evil scientists craft plans and trails off as good scientists become lost in thought. His George and Annie characters are earnestly childlike. In nonfiction sections he slows to a pace that allows for thought. Listeners young and old will find much to learn and enjoy in this production. A.R.
