An organization called Eternity hobbles through time, making minor adjustments that often have unexpected major consequences, all in a quest to ease the lot of the human race. There's a hero and a heroine, naturally. Narrator Paul Boehmer starts out as if he were responding to an automated telephone query: slow, precise, with each word carefully enunciated.
